The board of directors of Vale, the world’s largest iron ore producer, has approved the Serra Sul 120 project in Carajás, state of Pará, North Brazil, which will increase its S11D iron ore capacity by 20 million tonnes/year to 120 million t/y, according to Vale’s official statement released on August 13 local time.
