United States hot rolled cold (HRC) steel prices advanced by $2 a short ton or 0.3% week-on-week to $667 a short ton in the week ended July 18th this year, as per the latest figures released by the The Steel Index (TSI).
According to TSI, spot HR coil prices in the US Midwest (FOB Mill) continue to increase, albeit tentatively, as buyers resumed purchases in anticipation of further price hikes from steel producers in the coming weeks. The prices edged up a few dollars, firmly in the $665- 670 a short ton range.
