Keeping in mind the Indian government’s endeavor to provide 1 million workable manpower, the Indian Iron and Steel Sector Skill Council (II&SSSC) has been working to increase its footprint across the country. It aims to identify upcoming technologies in the sector and determine technology specific skills.
Working towards this end, the organization has been provided with an office space by the Department of Technical Education and Skill Development, Government of West Bengal, which was inaugurated on January 7, 2016.
Speaking on the occasion, T V Narendran, Chairman IISSC and Managing Director Tata Steel India and SEA, said: The Indian Iron And Steel Sector Skill Council …aims to create a data base by identifying the current and future skill requirements, both in terms of numbers and skill type, of the iron and steel industries. We will also identify upcoming technologies in the sector and determine technology specific skills we need to develop in the future…”
