Essar Steel’s recently-won iron ore mine in Odisha, through auction, will meet 50% of the annual iron ore requirement of its Paradip pellet facility.
Essar Steel has tied up all the critical inputs required for steel-making and has recently won an iron ore mine in Odisha through auction. This mine has deposits of 99 million tons and will meet 50% of the annual iron ore requirement of Paradip pellet facility, Essar said in a presentation.
The pellet plants at Paradip and Vizag are operational and ensure consistent supply of pellets to the steel plant. The abundant availability of gas at economical cost has further supported Essar Steel’s efforts to ramp up capacity.
