The prices of steel scrips fell on Wednesday in a pre-Budget pressure bull run. The metal stocks started the bear-run on Tuesday after a 6-day green spell.
The S&P BSE Metal index decreased 177.87 points (3.46%) to close at 6,611.83 on February 24 from the previous closing of 6,789.70. The highs and lows on February 24 were 6,715.93 and 6,596.05 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX and FTSE as well as the Indian Sensex all closed nearly 1.5-2% down on Wednesday from the previous close.
The Sensex decreased 321.25 points (1.37%) to close at 23,088.93.
On February 24, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Metal closed in the red. The maximum gain was registered by Jindal Steel, with the stock increasing 3.46% to close at Rs 58.35. The maximum loss was registered by HINDALCO, which decreased 3.14% to close at Rs 66.3.
