The metal index increased on Tuesday, riding on the post-Budget rally. The index was marginally up on Monday too.
The S&P BSE Metal index increased 168.26 points (2.49%) to close at 6,927.50 on March 1 from the previous closing of 6,759.24. The highs and lows on March 1 were 6,940.10 and 6,763.23 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX and FTSE as well as the Indian Sensex all closed in 1-1.5%, up on Tuesday from the previous close.
The Sensex increased 777.35 points (3.38%) to close at 23,779.35. this is the biggest one-day gain in 7 years.
On March 1, all the stocks on the S&P BSE Metal closed in the green. The maximum gain was registered by Vedanta, with the stock increasing 5.86% to close at Rs 75.
