The metal index remained green on Wednesday, riding the post-Budget rally. The index was significantly up on Tuesday and marginally up on Monday.
The S&P BSE Metal index increased 70.83 points (1.02%) to close at 6,998.33 on March 2 from the previous closing of 6,927.50. The highs and lows on March 2 were 7,108.55 and 6979.56 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX and the Indian Sensex, except FTSE, all closed in 1-2%, up on Tuesday from the previous close.
The Sensex increased 463.63 points (1.95%) to close at 24,242.98.35.
On March 2, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Metal closed in the green. The maximum gain was registered by Tata Steel, with the stock increasing 3.99% to close at Rs 267.15. Maximum loss was registered by Coal India with the stock decreasing 1.97% to close at Rs 311.45.
