The metal index increase significantly on Friday. In fact, it has been up since Monday when the Union Budget for 2016-17 had been tabled.
The S&P BSE Metal index increased 156.88 points (0.16%) to close at 7,438.53 on March 4 from the previous closing of 7,281.65. The highs and lows on March 4 were 7,461.90 and 7,256.72 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX and the Indian Sensex, except FTSE, all closed 1-2%, up on Friday from their previous close.
The Sensex increased 39.49 points (0.16%) to close at 24,646.48.
On March 4, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Metal closed in the green. The maximum gain was registered by Vedanta, with the stock increasing 4.24% to close at Rs 87.25.
The maximum loss was registered by Jindal Steel, with the scrip increasing 0.24% to close at Rs 63.15.
