The volatile metal index remained in red zone on Thursday for the second consecutive day. On Wednesday, it was also in the red though on Tuesday it had turned green.
The S&P BSE Metal index edged down 7.56 points (0.10%) to close at 7,277.18 on March 17 from the previous closing of 7,284.74. The highs and lows on March 17 were 7,401.11 and 7,260.83 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX and FTSE all were trading in the red. The Sensex turned red on March 17.
The Sensex edged down 5.11 points (0.02%) to close at 24,677.37.
On March 17, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Metal closed in the green. The maximum gain was registered by NMDC, with the stock increasing 3.06% to close at Rs 95.95. The maximum loss was registered by Coal India, decreasing 0.42% to close at Rs 294.35.
