JSW Steel expects to reach 18 million tons (mt) capacity very shortly, said Parth Jindal, Parth Jindal, son of Sajjan Jindal, and who is likely to head the group’s cement unit.
“Our Dolvi plant has a capacity of 5 mt and the Vijayanagar plant has a capacity of 12 mt. The rest will be contributed by the Salem plant,” he added.
Commenting on the current scenario in the steel market, he said it is really very difficult considering the low demand and high import scenario in the country. “We are hoping that the government would shortly implement the minimum import price mechanism which will act as a relief to steel-makers,” Parth Jindal said.
