JSW Steel’s crude steel production stood at 2.70 million tons (mt) in the third quarter (Q3) ending December 31, 2015, down 15% compared to 3.17 mt recorded during the same period of the previous year. Cumulative growth for the first nine months from April to December, 2015 stood at 9.36 mt, down 2% from 9.57 mt during the same period in 2014.
Though there was a 27% decrease in the flat rolled products in third quarter, long rolled products registered a 26% growth:

According to a company release, crude steel production was lower in Q3 because of the planned shutdown of one blast furnace each at all the three locations such as Vijayanagar, Dolvi and Salem for capacity enhancement. The blast furnaces are expected to resume production during January-February, 2016.
