Iron ore was imported through Paradip Port in May 2016 after a gap of 8 months, as per provisional information available with ISMW.
There had been no imports of the material through the port from September 2015-April 2016 either.
Imports of the material during the first 2 months (April-May) of the current fiscal of 2016-17 thus also stood at 2,657 tons against 60,281 tons seen in the same period of the previous fiscal (2015-16).
Total imports in 2015-16 were at 108,943 tons.
