After a five-month hiatus, iron ore was exported from the port of Paradip and the volume was at 55,000 tons, as per provisional information available with ISMW. It may be noted there were no exports of this raw material for making steel via the port from October 2015–February 2016.
Overall, export trends have been very erratic with gaps in-between.
Thus, total exports of the material in 2015-16 were at 392,630 tons against 889,393 tons in the previous fiscal, dropping 55.85% year-on-year.
Exports of the material in March 2015 were at 69,940 tons.
