India’s finished steel production for sale in December 2015 stood at 7.62 mt, an increase of 8% compared to the November 2015 figure of 7.05 mt, led by growth in case of both the ISP producers (by 14.8% to 4.13 mt) and the other producers (by 4.5% to 4.20 mt), as per initial provisional steel ministry data.
Compared to December 2014, overall production for sale in December 2015 decreased by 1.4% from 7.72 mt, led by a decrease in case of other producers (by 5.4%).
Production for sale of total finished steel, at 68.042 mt, registered a decline of 1.4% during April-December, 2015-16 compared to the same period of last year.
During April-December, 2015-16, the integrated steel producers produced 34.852 mt, which was a growth of 0.3% compared to same period of last year while the rest was the contribution of other producers, down by 3.3% compared to same period of last year.
