Prices remained bound between Rs 27,400-28,900 per ton.
Sources said the slight uptick in Chinese offers also impacted domestic prices.
Provisional steel ministry data showed that steel imports fell 35.1% to 766,000 tons in November 2015 as against 1.18 million tons in October 2015.
During April-November, 2015-16, India’s imports of non-alloy flat steel rose 41.3% year-on-year to 5.16 million tons from 3.65 million tons in the same period last year, provisional steel ministry data showed.
Imports of HR coils rose 99.6% to 2.36 million tons during the period, while imports of plates rose 54.7% to 683,600 tons during April-November, 2015. GP/GC sheet imports rose 26% to 363,700 tons, while CR coil/sheet imports rose 13.5% to 1.25 million tons during the period.
