India Steel Market Watch
November 30: Pig iron imports from the port of Chennai dropped a sharp 34.91% month-on-month to 261 tons in October compared to 401 tons in September, according to provisional data available with ISMW.
October 2015 imports comprised as much as 260 tons from South Africa in a band of Rs 34,769 – Rs 34,882 ($532-520) per ton while a minuscule 1 ton came in from Brazil at a unit price of Rs 44,856 ($678).
In September 2015, all the consignments arrived from South Africa in a band of Rs 34,207 – Rs 34,866 ($512-520) per ton.
