After showing a comparatively firm trend on January 5, scrap prices declined heavily to moderately on January 6 amidst sufficient availability and low demand, market sources said.
The decline during the day ranged between Rs 400 and Rs 900 per ton with Jaipur witnessing the steepest decline.
Melting scrap prices too followed the trend and fell by Rs 500 per ton in Mandi Govindgarh to Rs 21,000 per ton during the day.
