The steel sector remained a week performer for the fourth day in a row.
The metal index was marginally down over the last three days but, on February 11, the fall was a significant 3.81%.
The S&P BSE Metal index decreased 254.33 points (3.81%) to close at 6,412.38 on February 10 from the previous closing of 6,666.71. The highs and lows on February 11 were 6,660.19 and 6,334.56 respectively.
The performance of the global indices was also down in the current week. Global markets such as CAC, DAX and FTSE as well as the Indian Sensex all closed 3-4% down on Thursday from the previous close.
The Sensex decreased 807.07 points (3.40%) to close at 22,951.83.
On February 11, all the stocks on the S&P BSE Metal closed in the red. The maximum loss was registered by Vedanta, with the stock decreasing 7.09% to close at Rs 62.35
